Hoi An: A Joyful Jaunt Through Vietnam's Vibrant Gem! (Part One)

Writer: Tiffs TravelsTiffs Travels

Welcome, wanderers, to the land of lanterns, tailor-made dreams, and more delicious eats than you can shake a chopstick at! Our journey to Hoi An began with a hair-raising ride along the Hoi Van Pass, where we clung to the edge of our seats (and the van) as we wound our way through the misty mountains from Hue.

Once we hit the streets of Hoi An, we knew we were in for a wild ride. First stop: Phi Banh Mi, a tiny shack with a big reputation for serving up the best Vietnamese sandwiches this side of the Mekong. With each bite of crispy baguette and flavorful fillings, we knew we were in foodie heaven. And let's not forget the Vietnamese iced coffee, a delightful blend of strong, dark-roasted coffee brewed over sweetened condensed milk, served chilled over ice, creating a harmonious balance of bold flavors and creamy sweetness - and one of our favorite treats!

Next up, we dove headfirst into Hoi An's legendary tailoring scene. Picture this: us, strutting into a tailor shop like we owned the place, and walking out with custom-made threads that fit like a glove. Who needs Paris Fashion Week when you've got Hoi An, right?

But enough about fashion—let's talk noodles! Banh Canh noodles, to be exact. We slurped up bowl after bowl of these slurp-worthy delights, each spoonful a taste of Vietnam's culinary prowess. And you know what goes with Banh Canh noodles, fresh squeezed sparkling passion fruit juice. And for dessert? Vietnamese iced coffee! You better believe we had our fair share of these at dinner as well.

As the sun dipped low, we embarked on a journey down the Thu Bồn river, armed with lanterns and a playlist of Disney classics, and Vietnamese Iced coffee🤣. With "I See the Light" from Tangled as our anthem, we sailed into the night, feeling like modern-day Rapunzels (minus the tower).

But you know what really kept us going through it all? You guessed it: Vietnamese iced coffee, our trusty sidekick and fuel for all our adventures. Stay tuned for Part Two of our Hoi An escapades, where the fun continues and the coffee flows like... well, coffee!

(Did I mention the iced coffee's were good?!?)
